#4: Sunburst Showdown
Sunburst Ski Area ~ Kewaskum, WI

From The Director...
Sunburst Ski Area and Attitude Racing are looking forward to hosting WORS racers for this mid June event with great riding and racing on the trails at Sunburst. This year’s Sunburst Showdown will be the tenth annual and through the years WORS racers have seen the race and the area evolve. Sunburst Ski and Recreation Area is already home to the best winter skiing, snowboarding, and tubing in Southern Wisconsin and is always getting better.
Set in the heart of the Kettle Moraine, the Sunburst race course offers climbing and descending like no other course in WORS. Parts of the track present road race like speed, while others challenge competitors with tight twisting sections of wooded and rocky technical singletrack.
A spectator’s dream, the Sunburst venue is wide open. Racers start and finish in a central area and serpentine their way up, down, across and around the slopes of Sunburst with a large portion of the course visible from the aforementioned central area. The speed of this course tends to keep the racing tight.
Race director, Dave Haase and his staff of friends, teammates, the Sunburst Ski Patrol, and other volunteers are always hard at work on improvements for the Showdown. Come June 12th and 13th, WORS racers will be able to put the terrain of Sunburst to full utilization. Dave and company have put in their order for a dry sunny weekend.
The Sunburst Ski Patrol and Sunburst Ski Area will assist on this wild ride to make the Sunburst Showdown a classic mountain bike race. Don’t miss out on all of this WORS style fun. Rough on-site camping is available a short distance from all the action and the Ski Patrol has a dinner in the works for Saturday evening.
Come on out and register for your chance to win a Subaru Impreza one year lease. Visit www.attitudesports.com for details and to see other opportunities for registering to win the lease.
