#6: Chippewa Valley Firecracker Eau Claire Co. Expo Cntr. ~ Eau Claire, WI
From The Director...
Welcome to one of Wisconsin’s premier off-road mountain bike races, the Chippewa Valley Firecracker! It’s our sixth year and we are excited to welcome you to Eau Claire. The volunteers of CORBA (Chippewa Off Road Bike Association) are excited to once again host the Chippewa Valley Firecracker. Our trail volunteers have been hard at work adding new rock gardens, traversing climbs, trail armoring and of course plenty of additional hand-built, blinding fast & flowing singletrack throughout Lowes Creek Park. This year’s race course will offer a perfect balance of tight singletrack, technical sections such as the infamous Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and wide open, lung searing passing sections. We work hard to give you a great race and all proceeds go directly to trail building through CORBA.
With the race course dialed in, we’ve turned our attention to the main grounds. The course opens to pre-riders at 3:00 on Friday along with on-site camping. Saturday, July 10th will be filled with great activities for the whole family, which includes the FREE Rock ‘n Roll to Go Family Fun Zone, course pre-rides and our popular all you-can-eat pasta feed (still reasonably priced). Finish the night off with a campfire and join us for a movie on our 25’ outdoor screen. Start your race day with an amazing all-you-can-eat breakfast (still reasonably priced). Enjoy our expo area with local vendors, FREE Rock ‘n Roll to Go Family Fun Zones and concessions with food for purchase. The course will once again be very spectator friendly with plenty of elevated viewing areas. Once you’ve completed your race, relax at the Racer Lounge and enjoy the shade, free snacks and water. And don’t forget, we will have great swag & door prizes!!!! Please be sure to watch the WORS message board for course updates and race enhancements that are still being worked on. We guarantee you will not be disappointed!
Course Description
Fast rolling trails with exciting singletrack twisting and turning through Lowes Creek County Park. Open sections provide opportunity to hammer, while technical singletrack will test your skills with tight corners, side hills, creek crossings, quick drops, and power climbs.
